Thank a veteran. You never know how much it will mean to them

A young man thanks veteran and friend John Moorhead year after year on veterans day for his service and the service of a old friend, “Satch”, who died in World War II due to a land mine.  John has said that though this may be their job they still enjoy being thanked for their service, for they did pay a price of some kind.

By: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/11/11/thank-veteran-today-never-know-how-much-it-will-mean-to-them.html

On veterans day every year Joshua calls John Moorhead and thanks him for his and his friend “Satch” for their service.  Joshua met John while he was in college at a clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi where they both ran errands and pushed wheelchairs.  John and Satch fought in World War II, where Satch tragically stepping on a land mine leaving not even a body that could be buried.  John though not as seriously damaged as Satch, acquired post traumatic stress disorder during his fighting over seas.

I believe that though this mans life is filled with sad experiences it is good for it to be shared to allow people to appreciate the deeds of these brave men.  Fore without these men we might not have our freedom today and the world could look much different.  John and Satch were brave men who deserved to be honored for there time in the service, but they are not the only ones.  We should thank our veterans greatly for the sacrifices and time spent serving us, the people of the United States.  On this note I believe what Joshua is doing is a worthy dead, honoring these fine men.

This could affect the world be allowing our veterans to know that we appreciate there time in the service.  This type of story helps to remind us to thank our veterans and remind us of their sacrifices.  Without these types of stories it may be possible for some to forget these great men and women.  I would also hope that this would encourage more people to enter the service of our great nation.  This is how it could affect the world for the better.

When Recess is Micromanaged

The freedom of recess, a time for creative powers and rest from the thinking to recharge, has been infringed upon by over 900 school working with the play works company.

By: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/10/30/when-recess-is-micromanage/

Over 900 schools in 23 cities has had the great power of recess removed from their school.  This is due to a new company called Playworks which has convinced schools to spend as much as $30,000 to the company to perform the teachers jobs, overseeing recess.  Furthermore, this control of recess is limiting the students creativity and is attempting to reprograms the students of America.

I believe this is horrible limitation of  the development of creativity and business sense in our students.  Recess is a time for creativity, curiosity,  and social interaction, not mindless control allowing no time for thinking.  They are attempting to reprogram America by targeting our youngest generation, removing disappointment and the truth of real life from school.  To allow them to crash and burn as they get older and develop throwing them behind in life’s race.  This is why it is terrible that American is allowing this to happen.

This shall affect the world in a drastic way as America’s people are reprogramed without negativity.  To be given no choice and to only be allowed to say words that are not offensive to any group.  No conflict and no upset feelings, only a blankness among people.  Currently America is a place of power that assist many nations, but may soon become a place of little power.  That is why we must fight back so that we are allowed to remain creative and free.

Dog lies down in road for hours at spot where Florida accident claims his owner’s life

After a fatal accident where a woman was struck and dragged by a semi truck for 30 feet resulted not only in her demise but the broken heart of her loyal companion who was found laying by her body and remained there for hours even after the body was removed.

by: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/10/24/dog-lies-down-in-road-for-hours-at-spot-where-florida-accident-claims-his-owner/

A woman was hit and dragged 30 feet by a semi-truck when walking her dog resulting in her demise.    Though the damage does not stop there fore we never think of the one handling the grief.  The loyal companion of the woman laid by her side for hours and remained there even after the body was removed.

I believe this is both terrible and amazing, terrible in the death and amazing in loyalty.  This dog laid by their owners side hour upon hours after the death, what cat lover could claim a similar feet.  For the killer though my comment to them is to turn themselves in and be honorable.  Don’t be one of those hit and run people, take responsibility and try to help.  We should all strive to be as loyal as this dog.

This affects the world as a heart rending story of a woman and her loyal dog reminds us of are humanity.  To remind us of loyalty to others.  This all renews our sense sadness for others and their problems as we are touched by the loyalty from a death.  Laying beside their master for hour upon hours.  Would you ever do something similar?

Humans of New York

A interview by humans of New York

“I don’t think my intelligence comes across very well because I tend to get overexcited about things, like a little dog. Nobody at school notices when you’re reading Jane Austen. But everyone tends to notice when you get really excited about lunchtime.”

I chose this article, because I think it is interesting how she is not taken serious just for being a excited person.  Though it is a bit understandable as she fun people are not usually taken seriously on average.

Terrible Hacking Threatens Yearbook Day By: Dalton Stone

An emergency vote by the school board is being held on February 6 to decide whether to rent computers for the journalism class to finish the yearbook for “Yearbook Day”, due to a hacking that caused the school computers to be forced offline.

Yearbook day’s a tradition that has lasted for 22 years.  One day at the end of each school year the teachers release the seniors from class to pick up and sign the yearbooks and have fun before leaving the school.

“MacWorld in Southside agreed to let us rent four Macintosh computers with the necessary software for $500 for three weeks.”, said yearbook adviser, Rodney Stephens.  “That’s an incredibly discounted price and much cheaper than what our yearbook company would charge us for a missed deadline.”

For the journalism class to miss their deadline would cost them not only more money, but the disappointment of most, if not all the students.  It would also be the end of a 22 year tradition.

“Whoever hacked into our system is bright.  They didn’t leave many traces.”, said district technology director, Ed Robles.  “I don’t think it was a student.  This is some pretty sophisticated hacking.”

The school wide hacking caused a great eye opener throughout the school.  It even caused a new security software to be installed on all the school computers and created a great problem for the whole school.

“We have to get our yearbooks before school is out.” said senior, Reggie White.  “Yearbook day is one of the highlights of senior year.”

Combat dog who earned Bronze Stars in Iraq shot and killed in Wyoming

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/10/17/combat-dog-who-earned-bronze-stars-in-iraq-shot-and-killed-in-wyoming/

A combat dog that received 2 bronze stars in service in Iraq was shot in Wyoming.  The effect on the owner of Max was terrible as he raised Max from a puppy.  Also, Max was the service dog for his owner who had many health problems.

I believe that the cyclist did feel threatened by the large dog that may have been running up hoping to play.  Though even with playful desires a dog charging you would inspire fear.  Furthermore, the dog’s PSTD may have caused him to attack the man remember danger back in the field.  Though it is terrible and I know it will affect the owner it is not the cyclist’s fault.  It is very sad though to have lost a brave dog that loyally served both the military and his master.

This impacts the world by showing the people to make sure you are in danger before attacking.  It also shows that veterans and hero’s don’t have to be just men, but anyone or thing serving our country.  This is a impact also so that the dog is remembered.  To allow us to mourn the lose of a heroic dog as we would a man.  This shows that hero’s don’t just have to be men but can be animals too.

Mars has flowing liquid water, NASA confirms

Mars has flowing liquid water, NASA confirms

by: http://www.foxnews.com/science/2015/09/28/mars-has-flowing-liquid-water-nasa-confirms/

NASA confirms that there is water in a liquid form that flows.

This is proved by the fact that there are dark streaks seen on the surface of Mars during the spring and summer which identifies flowing water.  In addition, hydrated minerals have been found on the surface.  NASA suggests that this shows that there may be habitual conditions on Mars.

I am very glad to see this as it would be interesting to have a colony on Mars.  Though we would have to find a faster way to go there for me to consider flying over.  This also suggest that if we have found another habitual situation then others might be found in other solar systems. The proof they have presented of there being liquid water is  convincing as it does make sense being in the spring and summer.  That is why I believe that good evidence is presented that there is flowing water on the surface.

This could affect the world as our race begins to evolve and colonize other planets and gather materials from other world so that we no longer suck up our resources.  Also are said problem of overpopulation problem could be solved this way.   In addition, this could also lead us to many scientific discoveries in medicine, energy, and many others.  Though there could be some bad as wars could begin over land claims and resources.  To sum this up this could be good or bad depending on how we proceed.
